Talent Development is No Longer an Option

Targeted Coaching Efforts Leading to Organizational Results.

In order to build the organization you want with a compelling hold on the future — whether it's in the public or private sector — you have to attract talent and build the management team you need. It also requires an investment in the growth of your talent through coaching and training. This is why a commitment to coaching and development is key for every leader, or potential leader, in your organization.

Individuals make your organization prosper. Only by investing in strategically developing the talent you require now and in the future will your organization become successful and a top-player. This development is best attained through targeted coaching efforts at all levels within the organization.

Change in any organization is inevitable.

Are the leaders within your organization ready for change? Are they learning and adapting quickly? The leaders of tomorrow want to learn, to develop and to grow. Employees, managers and executives need their organization to foster this growth. Every organization, if it wants to succeed, needs to build versatile leaders — ones with transferable competencies, strong interpersonal skills and a drive to meet and surpass organizational goals.

G.A.P.S. Analysis

Do you have a game plan in order to get your organization to where it wants to be? Do you have a grasp on the outcomes you seek and what core competencies your leaders need to best achieve these outcomes? Do they currently demonstrate these competencies to a sufficient degree to achieve the expected results?

At Y2CP we can help your organization create a development plan for each one of your leaders by focussing on where each employee/leader is now and where they need to be to best meet organizational goals. In such a process, often referred to as a GAPS analysis, a systematic assessment of individual and organizational strengths, liabilities and goals is conducted in order to identify the gaps and generate a targeted skill development plan that will help to achieve organizational goals.

For example:

  • Do you leaders need to do things differently? If so, how?
  • What are the organization's expectations? What are yours?
  • What are the competencies/skills that you need in your organization?
  • What can you do to make your action plan work?
  • How can you best develop the talent that you currently have?
  • How do you know if you are meeting organizational expectations?

If you want your organization to grow and to prosper, you need to plan for it and invest in a targeted development of your talent.

A professional and targeted coaching process, like the one offered by Y2CP, will help your employees, managers and executives leverage the competencies/skills, knowledge and experience they need to achieve organizational success. Coached personnel tends to be more engaged and committed to their organization. And coaching definitely fosters both personal and organizational growth.

S.M.A.R.T. Objectives

Once the GAPS analysis completed, in order to achieve the best results, we believe that both individual and organizational action plans must incorporate S.M.A.R.T. objectives – ones that we develop with you. These objectives have been shown to be most effective and, in general, they have the following five characteristics:

Specific: Focus on precise details/actions (e.g. shorten number of hours worked per day/week).
Measurable: Aim for concrete results (e.g. work a maximum of 8 hours per day).
Achievable: Set goals that you can reach (e.g. reduce the number of hours of work gradually).
Realistic: Establish sensible and practical goals (e.g. shorten work week by 20 hours per week).
Time-sensitive: Identify and follow timelines/milestones (e.g. reachable by June 1, 2014).
